We know that there are important rules on the political activity serving members of the Regular Forces and Reservist Forces are permitted to undertake. We want any user of this site to be fully aware of them so that they act at all times in accordance with the rules. Current and former service personnel can be registered members and supporters of political parties, but not activists. The rules are slightly different for Regular Forces and Reservist Forces.
There are also important rules as to what activity political organisations can undertake with members of the Forces and at specific sites, which we and our representatives are fully aware of and will abide by at all times.
Guidelines for the political activity of the Regular Forces and Reservist Forces are set out in the Queens Regulations, which can be found below.
We recommend that any serving member of the Armed Forces considering participating in a political organisation read these.
