“It is a real disappointment but no surprise that forces’ morale is plummeting.
“Savings have to be made but the frontline are bearing the brunt. Permanent cuts to pensions, slashed allowances and cuts to the forces’ housing budget are piling up and hitting morale.
“The Labour Government listened to the judgement of the Forces Pay Review Body.
“Ministers should find ways to support those who give so much to the country on the battlefield.
“The Military Covenant may be in law but it is actions not words by which the country will judge this Government.”
