Right the international community takes action in Mali – Jim Murphy MP

Jim Murphy MP, Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary, commenting on the situation in Mali, said:

“It is right the international community takes action in Mali.

“Recent rebel advances in Mali are hugely troubling and it is in British and the international community’s interests that stability is achieved. The presence of violent Islamic militant groups in the country is deeply concerning for all.

“French action complies with international law and has been agreed with the Malian interim President.

“We all hope that this and action by nations in the region will bring greater stability to Mali.”

Further information on the situation in Mali can be found on the BBC website.

  1. Mali is in trouble and need our help! Perhaps the Tory Party should send out the veterans they are about to make redundant. Britain will always need our armed forces and I don’t mean a part-time army!!!
