Jim Murphy will give a speech at Community trade union on Labour’s plans to support former personnel in finding employment. Labour is committed to upholding and strengthening the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant, central to which is providing real opportunities for those who leave the military.
Jim Murphy is working with key stakeholders to explore how provision for service-leavers can be improved. Community trade union are examining what support can be given to ex-service personnel and are looking forward to working with the Jim and the Labour Party more widely in the development of this agenda. This will ensure that those who served in the military can receive the appropriate support to find gainful employment and continue to make a valuable difference in the workplace. Community General Secretary Michael Leahey will also make remarks.
