Response to Defence Committee report on the 2012 attack on Camp Bastion – Vernon Coaker

Vernon Coaker MP, Labour’s Shadow Defence Secretary, commenting on the Defence Committee’s report on the 2012 attack on Camp Bastion, said:

“This was a dreadful attack resulting in the loss of life. It is a reminder of the hugely difficult circumstance in which our Armed Forces operate.

“The report has established and examined the causes and consequences of the attack, and that is to be welcomed. It is clear that mistakes were made and it is vitally important that lessons are learned.

“In order to help that happen, I hope the Ministry of Defence will now disclose all of the outstanding information requested by the Committee.”
